There is high drama found in the lives of Sarah, Rebekah, Leah, and Rachel, mothers of the faith, as well as evidence of God’s faithfulness. Sarah was barren until she was ninety-nine-years old, at which time she miraculously gave birth to Isaac. Rebekah was barren for almost twenty years until the Lord opened her womb. Leah was unloved, but had many children. Considering that Jesus came from the lineage of these women, it’s evident that His birth was because of God’s sovereignty. The hand of God is also witnessed in the life of Rachel, who was barren for years but later gave birth to Joseph, Israel’s deliverer during a time of famine. Only God can write stories like these. He’s got the whole world in His hands.
